Bob Gordon South-East Playspace | Superintendent

The South Eastern Premier Play space at the Bob Gordon Reserve in Bull Creek is a development undertaken by the City of Melville. The development consists of the construction of a multi-generational play space including bespoke play elements, soft & hard landscaping and upgrading of existing toilet facilities, fixed furniture and shelters, pedestrian pathways, irrigation services, lighting and car park modifications and associated services. Role

Successful Projects were appointed as construction contract Superintendent by the City of Melville. We also provided project management assistance, ensuring, the coordination of shop drawings designs for the play equipment, fabrication (local) of the equipment, ensure timely submission and approval of Building License to the City of Melville and installation on site, coordination with service authorities to ensure timely connections of services and providing monthly reports to the Principal on site progress.

Outcomes

The project faced challenges with building in a “Live” public safety environment, Long lead items, and Shortage of Labour. We assisted to advise procurement of long lead items locally or in advance and in the planning of tasks that were not impacted by labour and material shortages. The project was completed within the construction contract period with minimal variations for additional scope of works as directed by the Client.
