East Rockingham Waste To Energy | Planning Engineer
The East Rockingham Waste to Energy Project will process 300,000 tonnes per year of residual waste from non-recyclable materials in the Perth metropolitan area to deliver 29MW of baseload electricity capacity, enough to power more than 36,000 homes.
The state-of-the-art facility will also generate 29 MW of renewable base load electricity for the South-West Interconnected System – enough to power more than 36,000 homes. It has employed about 300 workers, including apprentices during construction, and up to 50 operations staff on an ongoing basis when complete. In addition, an estimated 72,000 tonnes of ‘bottom ash’ will be recovered each year, for use in road bases and construction
When complete, the ERWtE will reduce annual emissions by more than 300,000 tonnes of CO2-e, the equivalent of taking about 64,000 cars off the road.
The scope of the project includes design, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning of The East Rockingham Waste to Energy Project, and its early associated works.
