The Fremantle Government Office Co-location Fitout Project for the Department of Transport and Department of Communities, comprises of 20,808 sqm of office accommodation which is provided across two buildings: North Campus, 14,300sqm and South Campus 6,500sqm.
Role
Successful Projects were engaged by Department of Finance as time planners at contract award of the Contractor. Our role involved reviewing the successful tender’s contract program and advise DOF Project Managers of suitability of the program. Once the program was approved, we set the baseline and performed weekly site updates using the Contractor’s approved contract program. We assisted in coordinating handover over different floors and areas. Our weekly site visits and program update provided insight to actual progress. Initially, the project was expected to be delayed due to procurement issues. This was later resolved by planning a staged handover. This gave the client early access to level 1 & 2 and gave the contractor an additional week to complete level 4.
Outcomes
The weekly updates helped the Department of Finance in keeping informed of the status of the works and assist in identifying slippages in works. This was later mitigated by organizing a staged handover for works over different floors.
