Kalamunda Community Centre | Project Manager and Superintendent

The Kalamunda Community Centre Building aims to provide an accessible and modern space for local community member and will be served as the new home for the Kalamunda Learning Centre to be shared with other existing and emerging community groups. The community building features seven activity rooms, two halls, office space, a kitchen, bathrooms, outdoor play areas and a viewing deck. The project also includes improvements to the site’s car parking facilities and associated infrastructure such as lighting, Disabled and Gender toilets, Outdoor ramp, Bike racks.

Role

Successful Projects was appointed as Project Manager and Project Superintendent by the City of Kalamunda to deliver this major community project. We fulfilled the role to ensure the project will be delivered in accordance with the contract and to meet the requirements of the stakeholders. We managed and administered the project through the various stages including Contract Administration, Practical Completion through to the Defect Liability Period. The role involved assessment and certification of Extension of Time, Variation Claims and Progress Claim. Monthly progress review and financial reporting and attending progress meetings and Client Project Control Group meetings.

Outcomes

We managed the challenges that arose during construction with the Contractor, Design Team and Principal . The new community opened to the public on January 2021 with numerous benefits to being an active part of a community including opportunities for support, connection, learning, and personal fulfilment.
