Perth Zoo’s playground area was revitalised by demolishing existing non-compliance facilities and introducing new landscaping elements, pathways, terraces, and play spaces. This extensive endeavour required intricate coordination and strategic planning to deliver a modern and engaging recreational space.

Role

Successful Projects were engaged as time planning consultants by Dept of Finance on behalf of Perth Zoo. Our management strategy involved proactive planning, coordination, and communication of risks associated with program sequencing of long lead procurement items. This approach improved overall project efficiency by enabling early notification of potential impacts on the construction program, facilitating the implementation of appropriate measures to ensure successful project delivery.

Outcomes

Our Planning Services assisted the Department’s Project Manager and Superintendent’s Representative with our fortnightly reporting and preparation of the design stage programs. Through regular communication and coordination, the project was executed under the parameters accorded and activities were re-scheduled as needed to complete the project successfully. The project was completed to a high quality of standard with Practical Completion achieved 3 working days later than the forecast Date for Practical Completion, allowing the Playground to be open in time for the first week of the Term 3 School Holidays.
