HMAS Anzac | Planning Engineer

The HMAS Anzac (FFH 150) ship was docked in waters at Henderson Common User Facility, Western Australia, to undergo repair and refurbishment. More than 10,0000 manhours were allocated to complete the project. A total of 47 Repair Agents (Sub Contractors) were involved in the project. All subcontractors working inside the ship were managed by the project team avoiding conflicts in compact compartments, whilst working with the ship fleet support unit. The maintenance of the ship included maintenance and refurbishment to areas including aviation, command and fire control, communications, warning systems, control and monitoring, hull, refuelling system, flight deck, electrical, load centres, outfit, propulsion, ship systems and auxiliaries, sensors and weapons.

Role

Successful Projects role in project scheduling assisted in managing resources, project control over job execution data, job completion, growth variations, progress monitoring, forecasting, prioritising and distributing work list for the project.

We provided a comparison of jobs and aligning the schedule according to Remaining Main Work List (RMWLC). We used the Project Control Register (PCR) to search for growth works and incorporating the approved hours in the schedule, Issue Baseline Change Request (BCR) document and amend approved hours in the Baseline and issue progress trackers to all Repair Agents (RA) subcontractors.

Outcomes

Our regular updates assisted in 48 Hour Lookahead daily, according to Sub Contractor Co-ordinator Representative, Job type and ship compartmentsm highlighting key risks and delays in weekly progress meetings with production managers and daily co-ordination with all sub contractor representatives.
