Western Turner Syncline | Planning Engineer
The Western Turner Syncline (WTS) is an Iron Ore Operations Project located 35 kM northwest of Tom Price in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The project scope included the following:
- Excavation, backfill / placement, compaction and final trimming of the earthworks and roadworks
- Installation of drainage
- Construction of equipment foundations, pads & footings
- Fabricate and install (where applicable) all structural steel
- Installation of belt reeling rollers
- Testing and Commissioning
Role
Successful Projects (SP) were appointed by DIAB Engineering to create revised plans, maintain schedule updates, prepare weekly & monthly progress reports including productivity tracking report, S curves, and Earned Value. We also assisted project management team in preparation of comprehensive delay analysis and impacted schedules.
Outcomes
Our senior planning consultant team has been recognised by Diab for assistance during the project. The revised plans were accepted by RIO Tinto and the delay analysis assisted DIAB Engineering in granting Extension of Time and receiving an approved EOT claim.
